"Early 1960s were marked by box dresses" (Phillips 2014) and was very similar to late 1950s fashion. Many dresses sold at that time (early 60s) were updated version of 1950s dresses. The fabrics were relatively conservative, as were the patterns and colors. Women wore Scarves, and various types of collars were popular as well. Clothing items were often homemade and teens were seen in simular designs as their mothers.
